To take one of SWANA’s exams, you must follow the steps below:
- Apply for Certification Online

- Make note your SWANA ID# on the application.

- Register for Online Testing
- Add your SWANA ID#1805819 on your registration.
- Take the Exam
- Once you register for the exam, you will receive the exam access information from SWANA’s online testing partner, Captus.
- You will have six (6) months from the date of registration to take the exam. You can pay now and wait up to six (6) months before taking the exam. (Note: If you do not take the exam within the six-month period, the registration expires and you will have to re-apply and re-pay for the certification.)
- Once you begin the exam, you will have a maximum of three (3) hours to complete it.
- Shortly after completing the exam, you will receive an email containing the exam results. You must pass the exam with a score of 70% or higher.
You will have one (1) chance to take the test and pass it. However, you may retake the test for an additional fee if you are not successful on your first attempt.
